Arthur Brouthers is well known in the world of social media as a pioneer of an abstract fluid painting technique that achieves cellular like separations, with the use of acrylic paints and other chemical agents. In his figurative works, these unconventional methods are used as bottom layers or the “skins” of his subjects. Arthur uses anywhere from 4 to 15 layers of clear resin between layers of acrylic paint, pigmented inks, and spray paint to show depth, giving a 3D effect

ABOUT THE PIECE, $1,200

The Peoples Vaccine - We have all spent the last year waiting on pharmaceutical companies to develop a vaccine to lead us out of the Covid darkness. Through the miracle of modern science, multiple vaccines have been developed around the world at an unprecedented timeframe and scale. However, many remain skeptical of these new vaccine’s long-term effects and efficacy. Others are more than willing to accept anything that could bring things back to some sort of normalcy. I made my own version of a vaccine with ingredients that I feel are truly needed to heal today’s world, without any harmful side effects: Love, Kindness, Empathy, Compassion, Hope, Peace, Happiness, Fortitude, Gratitude, Fulfillment, Immunity, Patience, Optimism, Serotonin, Wisdom and Creativity.

Each piece was created on 12x16in wood canvas using spray paint, cut paper, an image transfer technique, and multiple layers of clear epoxy resin to add a 3D effect. The design was inspired by an empty vaccine bottle. I photographed it and reworked the text in photoshop.
