Arthur Brouthers has been a multi-disciplinary artist and a central figure in the Charlotte community for more than a decade. Now distinguished worldwide, he has gained recognition for pioneering an abstract fluid painting technique using acrylic paints and other chemical agents to create his signature style of visually stunning designs and unique textures. In his mixed-media works, he uses cut paper, vinyl and/or other unconventional methods which are used as bottom layers or the “skins”. In addition to those methods, Brouthers applies multiple layers of clear resin adding depth and shadows, creating a 3D effect.

Arthur created a series of pieces themed The peoples Vaccine. This series is a part of the “Frontline Workers Exhibit” at The Brooklyn Collective located in Uptown Charlotte. The show spotlights the courageous and heroic efforts of the frontline workers who have been sacrificing themselves to get us all through the Covid crisis. Arthur wanted to put a colorful and positive spin on the idea of vaccination. The resin allowed him to create a 3D effect, similar to the bottle itself. Along the layers of intersecting multicolored curvy lines, a new style he developed during quarantine, which represents his twist on the ingredients: Love, Kindness, Empathy, Compassion, Hope, Peace, Happiness, Fortitude, Gratitude, Fulfillment, Immunity, Patience, Optimism, Serotonin, Wisdom and Creativity.

Throughout his career, he has been featured in galleries and solo exhibitions in the US, Europe, and has shown at Art Basel weeks in Switzerland & Miami.
